It finally happened. After months (maybe even years) of lusting after Kendra Scott’s AMAZING jewelry, I can finally say I am the proud owner of a piece from her collection. For all who don’t know, Kendra Scott is a boutique jewelry store with locations in Austin, Los Angeles and now Dallas. She uses bright stones and bold designs to create unique pieces that are gorgeous to look at (definite conversation starters).
I’ve had my eye on a few different pairs of her earrings for some time now, but the unique jewelry comes with some hefty price tags, so until recently, owning a pair has only been a pipe dream. Lucky for me, my company’s HR Director pays attention and noticed a tweet I posted several months back requesting Kendra Scott designs as a birthday present. So when it was time to celebrate my birthday at the office, she was prepared with a gift card to the store!
The excitement continued to build as I thought and thought about which pair of earrings I would finally get to call my own. Would it be the Kylie Earrings? Or what about the Kavita Earrings? There were just so many choices that I didn’t know how I would ever make a decision. As if the actual designs weren’t enough, the colors combinations were almost endless. Kendra Scott’s store has this great thing called The Color Bar. At the color bar, you select one of their pre-made jewelry designs and then you choose each individual gem that you want to include in it. So much fun! I couldn’t wait to experience it all for myself.
Before driving home yesterday I stopped by Kendra Scott to pick out my new birthday present. After trying on my first pair of earrings, I had a horrible realization: The stones made the earrings so heavy that it hurt my ears to wear them. I considered enduring the pain anyway (I mean beauty is pain, right?), but decided I couldn’t bear the thought of the earrings stretching out my earlobes. What was a girl to do? I finally had the opportunity to get some of my own Kendra Scott and the dream was being slowly pulled away…
I thought for awhile and decided to switch my focus to a necklace…I don’t have enough of those anyway. So I looked at the necklaces and settled on the beautiful Rayne Necklace in Pink Agate:
While it’s not the earrings I’ve been hoping for, I couldn’t be more happy with my decision. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to wear the necklace, but I’m so excited to see all the compliments that come along with it. What’s great is that thanks to the Color Bar (and the ability to pick out my own stone), my necklace is truly one-of-a-kind. What could be better? I have the feeling this necklace will be the first of many Kendra Scott designs to make their way into my closet…just saying.
